Tiger Woods shot a season-low 63 Friday in the second round of the Buick Open and soared up the leaderboard with his best round in relation to par in four years. Arturo Gatti hanged himself with a handbag strap from a staircase column more than seven feet off the ground, Brazilian police said Friday as they released new details about the boxer's death. Milena Saraiva, a police spokeswoman in the northeastern city of Recife, provided more information about Gatti's suicide a day after authorities reversed their stance on the case.

Belichick won’t rule out signing Vick (AP)

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick won't rule out the chance that the team will sign quarterback Michael Vick. But he won't rule it in, either, at least not publicly. Indians’ Carmona to start against Tigers (AP)

Fausto Carmona is back pitching for the Cleveland Indians. Sent to the lower minor leagues earlier this season to work on his mechanics, Carmona, a 19-game winner in 2007, was recalled from Triple-A Columbus to start Friday's series opener against the first-place Detroit Tigers.
