The Owls (24-5, 12-2 Atlantic 10) wiped out a one-point halftime deficit with an 18-0 run to open the second half.

Spurs halt Suns’ winning streak at 5 (AP)

Richard Jefferson scored 20 points in his best game since losing his starting job, and the San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix 113-110 on Sunday to end the Suns’ five-game winning streak. Amare Stoudemire had a season-high 41 points and 12 rebounds for Phoenix, but Jefferson and the Spurs hung on late to hand the Suns only their second loss since the All-Star break.

Visnovsky reprimanded for doping (AP)

A Slovakian hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers has been reprimanded for a minor doping violation at the Vancouver Olympics. The IOC said Sunday that Lubomir Visnovsky tested positive for a stimulant contained in a cold medication. This is only the second doping violation of these Olympics. A female Russian hockey player was reprimanded after testing positive for a stimulant before the games.

Mets shortstop Jose Reyes said Sunday he met with federal investigators last week regarding a Canadian doctor accused of selling an unapproved drug. Dr. Anthony Galea is facing four charges in his country related to the unapproved drug known as Actovegin, which is extracted from calf’s blood and used for healing.

No. 4 Syracuse rips No. 7 ‘Nova 95-77 (AP)
